Worker instructions

The instructions panel and how to write instructions that work.

Good instructions are the highest-leverage thing you can write: they directly set the quality of what you get back.

The instructions panel#

1. 1In your project's settings, add a title, written instructions, and optionally a tutorial video link.
2. 2Workers see this panel at the top of your project's task list and must acknowledge it before starting their first task.
3. 3Update it any time, changes are visible to workers immediately.

What good instructions contain#

• 2–3 concrete examples of a correct annotation (and one common mistake).
• Edge-case rules: occlusion, ambiguity, when to skip.
• What reviewers will reject, workers read this section most carefully.
